Course Description

This course provides a broad foundation in the principles and operation of communications networks with an emphasis on their relevance to current and next-generation options and strategies.

 

Students will learn about network standards, layered protocol suites and data transmission methods used in various LAN and WAN technologies and will also gain the skills necessary to evaluate network performance, scalability, fault tolerance, security and management issues in order to select an appropriate network infrastructure.
